【摘要】:1.1Thisguidedescribesproceduresforobtaininglaboratorydataconcerningtheadverseeffectsofatextmaterialaddedtogrowthmediumonacertainspeciesofduckweed(LemnagibbaG3)duringa7-dayexposureusingthestatictechnique.Theseprocedureswillprobablybeusefulforconductingtoxicitytestswithotherspeciesofduckweedandotherfloatingvascularplants,althoughmodificationsmightbenecessary.1.2Specialneedsorcircumstancesmightalsojustifymodificationofthisstandard.Althoughusingappropriateproceduresismoreimportantthanfollowingprescribedprocedures,resultsoftestsconductedusingunusualproceduresarenotlikelytobecomparabletoresultsofmanyothertests.Comparisonofresultsobtainedusingmodifiedandunmodifiedversionsoftheseproceduresmightprovideusefulinformationconcerningnewconceptsandproceduresforconductingtestswithduckweed.1.3Theproceduresinthisguideareapplicabletomostchemicals,eitherindividuallyorinformulations,commercialproducts,orknownmixtures.WithappropriatemodificationstheseprocedurescanbeusedtoconducttestsontemperatureandpHandonsuchothermaterialsasaqueouseffluents(seealsoGuideE1192),leachates,oils,particulatematter,sedimentsandsurfacewaters.Theseproceduresdonotspecificallyaddresseffluentsbecausetodatethereislittleexperienceusingduckweedsineffluenttestingandsuchtestsmayposeproblemswithacclimationofthetestorganismstothereceivingwater.Statictestsmightnotbeapplicabletomaterialsthathaveahighoxygendemand,arehighlyvolatile,arerapidlybiologicallyorchemicallytransformedinaqueoussolution,orareremovedfromtestsolutionsinsubstantialquantitiesbythetestchambersororganismsduringthetest.1.4Resultsoftoxicitytestsperformedusingtheproceduresinthisguideshouldusuallybereportedintermsofthe7-dayIC50basedoninhibitionofgrowth.InsomesituationsitmightonlybenecessarytodeterminewhetheraspecificconcentrationunacceptablyaffectsthegrowthofthetestspeciesorwhethertheIC50isaboveorbelowaspecificconcentration.Anotherendpointthatmaybecalculatedisthenoobservedeffectconcentration(NOEC).1.5Thesectionsofthisguideappearasfollows:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection6.
